Description

The purpose of the stay was to isolate circular DNA from Leishmania donovani with the goal of studying the overexpression of all the genes carried on those circular pieces of DNA. We applied two different methods: (1) CsCl2 gradient but ended up mainly kDNA and (2) the screen by colony lift of a cosmid bank made of one of our parasite strain. We succeeded the isolation of cosmids carrying the two loci of interest.
The stay was funded by the EMBO short stay abroad fellowship and the FWO Grant for a short study visit abroad.
