2 half-days workshop.
RKI has already laid important groundwork through the ZIG Talks series in 2021-2022, which covered power asymmetries, the history of colonial medicine, and theoretical frameworks for understanding these dynamics. The 2023 and 2024 workshops continued this work, creating space for critical reflection.

Our workshop builds on this foundation by focusing on practical application. While previous sessions helped participants understand that power asymmetries exist and that their positionality matters, our workshop addresses the concrete questions: How does coloniality show up in my daily work, research, and projects? What can I actually do differently? How do I navigate these issues with my team or partners? What's within my control, and what are structural constraints I must work within or against?

Through interactive exercises and guided reflection, participants will apply these questions to their own projects and develop actionable next steps for their international work.
