Ella Van Landeghem is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at the Institute of Tropical Medicine and the University of Antwerp, where she is also a member of the Network on Migration and Global Mobility (MIGLOBA). Her work focuses on structural vulnerabilities, health equity and HIV prevention. Her doctoral research employs qualitative and participatory methods to examine barriers to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among migrants in Belgium through the lense of intersectionality theory. Beyond her PhD, she has contributed to multiple research projects, such as the CORE project on community-led and cross-sector partnerships, qualitative social network analysis for the COLIBRI project and Quality of Life research among people living with HIV. She is particularly interested in the role of migration and mobility in HIV vulnerabilities and exploring creative and participatory methods.
