Research expertise
Lai Jiang studied Educational Science and has a PhD in the field of instructional design at KULeuven in Belgium.
She provides pedagogical support to ITM and its partner institutions.
She designs and delivers training workshops in different countries for teachers in the field public health and clinical science. Those workshops cover various educational topics that are relevant in the face-to-face and e-learning environments, including but not limited to lesson planning, curriculum development, quality assurance, thesis supervision and student assessment.
She has worked with different institutions on curriculum development: a) Uganda Martyrs University: develop an advanced diploma course in Health Insurance Management and b) Institute of Public Health, India: develop an e-learning course on public health for health program managers. c) The institution of Tropical Medicine, Belgium: reform the postgraduate course: Tropical Medicine & International Health. Currently, she is involved in the development of an One Health module for a Master of Tropical Medicine (ITM-University Pretoria).
