Developing and testing an E-learning on PrEP for general practitioners in Flanders

Project Details

Description

Decentralizing PrEP care to involve general practitioners (GPs) may contribute to improving access to PrEP and decreasing workload pressure on specialist services. GPs in Flanders are willing to be more involved in PrEP care, but currently lack knowledge and skills. To improve GPs’ knowledge and skills with regard to PrEP, this project aims to develop a low-threshold online E-learning about PrEP for GPs with limited experience. The course will provide basic information about PrEP, and enable participating GPs to discuss PrEP with their patients and to refer eligible patients to an HIV reference center (HRC). The E-learning will be made available through Domus Medica’s Online Academy.
