European Network for Medical and Veterinary Entomology

The project is the continuation of the VectorNet project: European network for sharing data on the geographic distribution of arthropod vectors, transmitting human and animal disease agents funded by ECDC and EFSA. The VectorNext consortium provides scientific support to ECDC and EFSA for their assessments on vectors and vector-borne diseases risk, prevention and control to define and/or update the geographical distribution, abundance and seasonality of targeted arthropod vectors in the EU/EEA, the EU enlargement countries, the European neighbourhood policy partner countries and possibly some EU overseas countries and territories and EU outermost regions and to contribute to capacity building on vectors and vector-borne diseases.
