European Network for Medical and Veterinary Entomology

The project is a continuation of the VectorNet initiative, a European network funded by ECDC and EFSA that facilitates the sharing of data on the geographic distribution of arthropod vectors responsible for transmitting pathogens to humans and animals. VectorNet offers scientific support to ECDC and EFSA in assessing risks, prevention, and control measures for vectors and vector-borne diseases. Its goals include defining or updating the geographical distribution, abundance, and seasonality of targeted arthropod vectors across the EU/EEA, EU enlargement countries, European Neighbourhood Policy partner countries. Additionally, the consortium contributes to capacity building in the field of vectors and vector-borne diseases.
