Harmonizing Integrating Vitalizing European Research on AIDS/HIV

The main objectives of the HIVERA ERA-Net are therefore:

To coordinate HIV/AIDS-related national or regional programmes in 10 participating ministries and funding agencies and develop a pro-active strategy to include new partners from at least 2 or 3 additional countries within the duration of this contract;To compile information about existing national HIV/AIDS research programmes in Europe and their management, to analyse them and to identify the most promising areas for join initiatives;To achieve a highly relevant value for the considerable European investments into the field of HIV/AIDS by coordinating the existing but fragmented programmes in Europe and by developing indicators of the impact of these coordination activities;To offer a platform for programme managers to discuss the ethical, legal and social basis for research funding and the implementation of its results according to the existing laws and regulations.
