The overall objective of this project [KIS-AN2] is to establish a sustainable, women- and community-led, health promotion programme for cardiometabolic health among households in Kisantu, DRC.

To achieve this overall aim, the following specific objectives are planned:

- Roll out a community health promotion programme for cardiometabolic health.

- Strengthen women's leadership by training women of the community as agents of change to promote cardiometabolic health.

- Compare, the pre- and post-programme, cardiometabolic indicators and anthropometric profiles of adults and children below 5 years of age.

- Assess the acceptability and engagement of the community in health promotion activities.

To support the objectives stated above, structural and capacity-related objectives are embedded:

- Assess the sustained effect of the KIS-Antwerp project.

- Improve knowledge of cardiometabolic health and promote attendance at health centres in Kisantu.

- Continue strengthening healthcare providers' knowledge and measurement techniques concerning cardiometabolic health.

- Continue strengthening the data collection and digitalisation of health-related data.

- Engage with policy-makers on definitive plans for policies for healthy lifestyles and cardiometabolic health.
