Abstract

The influence of chloroquine on the infectivity of gametocytes of Plasmodium berghei Anka chloroquino-sensitive was assessed in vitro. It was found that chloroquine could not affect the exflagellation of microgametocytes but prevented the formation of ookinetes at the concentration of 10 .mu.g/ml. This activity seemed to be stage and dose dependent.
