Abstract

This retrospective study gives an overview of canine visceral leishmaniasis (Leishmania infantum) from 1987 till 1997. A total of 331 serum samples were analysed, 99 of which were positive (30%), or on average, ten animals per year. Some epidemiological data are discussed and compared with those from other non-endemic countries.
