Coordination of small ruminants research for development in Africa

Abstract

There is a need for much more effective coordination and doser linkages between institutions in volved in SR research and production as well as a need to strengthen the exchange of information between countries and institutions engaged in the development of SR production. Consequently a workshop on the coordination of small ruminants research for development in Africa was organised in October 1986 in Montpellier, France. The participants exchanged views in working groups based on all the ecological zones and on four main disciplines i. e. health, reproduction and breeding, feeds and feeding, socio-economics. Network possibilities have also been discussed.
