Abstract
Parasitaemia (P. berghei), specific antibody titers (IgG) and prognosis have been observed in pregnant and non-pregnant mice immunized or not: 1.degree. the parasitaemia in pregnant mice was significantly higher than in non-pregnant controls, 2.degree. in the immunized population, infected pregnant mice had antibody titers higher than those of infected non-pregnant and of non-infected pregnant, 3.degree. the foeto-maternal prognosis was compromised in infected mice, and especially when not immunized. Our results confirm observations made in endemic countries and in experimental models, and seem to indicate that the immunodepression state observed in malaria during pregnancy could not be explained by a deficiency of the specific antibody production.
