Abstract

Termite production for traditional poultry breeding in Togo. A technique used in Togo to produce termites is described. The aim. is to improve day old chicken and guinea fowls feeding in village breeding. Fibrous and humidified wastes are put in a halfcalabash covering a hole opened in a termitary ; protection against excess heating and drying is managed. Cropping occurs normally after 3-4 weeks. The note is illustrated by 19 photographs showing the actual process sequence.
